Got your mpox vaccine yet? It’s not too late!
Mpox is a virus that causes painful sores on the body. Other symptoms may include fever, chills and swollen lymph nodes. Mpox is spread through close personal contact, including sex.
The good news is there’s a vaccine! Two doses, approximately four weeks apart, provides strong protection against mpox. The vaccine is most effective if received before exposure. If you are exposed and have not been vaccinated, it can help to reduce the severity of symptoms.
If you only received one dose of the mpox vaccine, it’s never too late to get the second dose!
Talk with your health care provider about getting the mpox vaccine. Many health departments and health clinics also provide the vaccine, including free and low cost options in some areas.
Enter your ZIP to find STD testing and treatment near you. All STDs are treatable and many are curable. Vaccines are also available for mpox, HPV and hepatitis A and B.
