It was another successful year of FREE HIV testing, information and fun for National HIV Testing Day!
More than 265 health departments and local HIV organizations joined with Greater Than AIDS and Walgreens to provide FREE HIV testing and information at participating Walgreens stores in 260 cities on June 27th for National HIV Testing Day. This year brought together the highest number of participating partners, cities and Walgreens stores! Mayors and local leaders in Baltimore, Chicago and elsewhere also spoke out in support of the local events.
After people stopped by for a FREE HIV test, they also received informational materials and giveaways from Greater Than AIDS and Walgreens – including brochures with information about PrEP, the pill to prevent HIV, for those who test negative, and the benefits of HIV treatment for those who test positive.
The National HIV Testing Day community partnership is part of an ongoing effort by Greater Than AIDS and Walgreens to broaden the reach of HIV testing and information in non-traditional settings and to support the outreach of local organizations. Click here to learn more about the partnership.
